Your forward-thinking economic advisory partner.
Perspective Economics is an independent economic research firm specialising in emerging technologies and complex sectors that traditional methods struggle to capture. We combine rigorous analytical expertise with transparent, industry-leading AI tools to help governments and businesses make better-informed decisions.
Our work goes beyond standard economic analysis. We define new sectors, build taxonomies from scratch, and quantify activity where no official statistics exist. We are trusted by government and industry to deliver the evidence that shapes policy, investment and decision-making.
We use modern methods and machine-driven analytics to gather and interpret evidence; providing insight that drives real-world decisions.
We use data and industry-leading analytics, together with deep subject matter expertise to identify, define, measure and assess the economic activity and policy interventions that matter.
Mapping and measuring emerging technology sectors
Quantifying contributions to growth, jobs and GVA
Value for money assessments and policy evaluation
Evidence-led guidance on policy and investment
Machine-driven analytics and predictive modelling
We use proprietary and open data sources alongside our own analytical tools to identify and measure economic sectors that sit outside conventional classification systems. Our work spans cyber security, artificial intelligence, semiconductors and other emerging technology sectors, as well as creative industries and advanced materials.
We quantify the economic contribution of sectors, programmes and institutions, covering revenue, employment, GVA, tax revenue and regional spillover effects. Our impact work has demonstrated the value of investment in innovation centres, the arts, med tech and higher education, helping clients make the case for continued and increased investment.
We help policymakers understand whether public interventions are delivering value. Our evaluation work covers cost-benefit analysis, formative and summative evaluations, and value for money assessments, all compliant with HM Treasury Green Book guidance. We work closely with government departments to make sure findings are actionable, not just filed.
We advise on strategic priorities, market positioning and investment decisions. Our strategy work draws on deep sectoral knowledge, particularly in digital and technology, combined with rigorous economic analysis. We've contributed to national strategies and help clients translate evidence into clear, defensible decisions.
We apply machine learning, natural language processing and large-scale web analysis to identify companies, classify activity and forecast sector growth. Our AI-augmented approach lets us map sectors with thousands of firms that traditional surveys would miss entirely, giving our clients a far more complete picture of the landscape.
No two projects are the same. We design bespoke analysis around each client's question, and we don't stop at the answer. We tease out new questions that help our clients improve how they deliver, invest, and work.
We agree on the research question, define the methodology and set out what the final output needs to achieve.
Data collection through surveys, web analysis and open sources, followed by econometric modelling and analysis.
Findings are stress-tested by our team. We document every assumption and make our methodology fully transparent.
Publication-ready reports with clear recommendations. We present findings directly to stakeholders and support follow-up.
We believe in the transformative potential of AI, but we're equally committed to its nuanced, transparent and ethical application. Our AI tools accelerate research and unlock patterns in complex data, but every finding is validated by experienced analysts who understand context, limitations, and real-world implications.
We work as an extension of your team. The directors you meet on day one are with you throughout, bringing unrivalled subject matter expertise, bespoke and curated datasets and a commitment to translating research into action.
